Vintage Novelty "Virgin Mermaid" Fishing Lure by Stream-EZE

c. 1950s; Stream-EZE, Inc. - South Bend, IN

Figural novelty fishing lure modeled as a reclining mermaid, featuring a painted flesh-tone upper body with hand-detailed facial features and a metallic gold-painted tail. The figure is cast in a lightweight material with molded detailing to the hair and torso, while the tail section is more rigid with a stylized fin form. The lure is fitted with multiple treble hooks along the underside and tail, along with a front line tie, combining whimsical design with functional hardware. The exaggerated form and bright coloration reflect a period trend toward novelty and attractor-style lures intended to provoke strikes through visual curiosity as much as realistic imitation.

Shows moderate wear including paint loss, surface scratches, and oxidation to hooks and metal components. Finish wear is most noticeable along the tail and back of the figure.
